Kamuzu Central Hospital Discharges All Covid-19 Patients
The Kamuzu Central Hospital has discharged all its remaining COVID – 19 patients, Director for the Hospital Dr. Jonathan Ngoma has confirmed.
“It is true. They’ve all recovered. We’ve never had such a stressful time,” said Ngoma.
The development comes a few days after Mzuzu Central Hospital equally discharged all COVID – 19 patients after testing negative for the coronavirus.
For the past 6 months since April when Malawi registered her first COVID – 19 cases, KCH admitted nearly 90 people who tested positive for the coronavirus.
“Those discharged are 57 in total. 32 passed on. The pandemic reached its peak in June and July,” added Ngoma.
He was speaking on Wednesday when Lilongwe Safari Club made an over K2 million donation including 20 oxygen cylinders to the referral facility.
Dr. Ngoma has since spoken of the need for continued strict adherence to COVID – 19 prevention measures, saying complacency might spike the number of people who might test positive for the coronavirus.
Malawi’s COVID – 19 caseload currently stands at around 5,600.
